This is quite an unique single for it is a rather slow song. Almost all of the singles are fast songs. Occasionally a slower song will be included as a c/w song, but this song Eien is an exception. It is simply such a great song that it deserves to be released as a single. The sale figures prove this, with well over 500 thousand copies sold. There exists an english version of this song, also sung by Izumi Sakai. It was included in one of those BEST albums as an bonus.

You can clearly hear that this song is composed by Tetsuro Oda. Very good, well-paced music and a great intro, almost as good as the one in Kokoro wo Hiraite. The chorus-part is also outstanding, beautifully sung by Izumi Sakai (as always ^_^).
Love is gone, the c/w song, sounds surprisingly well. It hasn't got a catchy intro like My Baby grand, but the chorus makes up for this. Put together the build-up of Atarashii Door and the chorus of Ikimo Dekinai and you will get a feeling of how this great song sounds. Or just click on "listen" to hear a sample of the song.
Having said this I think I can safely say that this is the best Zard single. The single song is of high quality and the c/w song is one of the best there is.

I think this song is quite comparable to Makenaide. The songs have the same structure, they both have great music and vocal; but where Makenaide tends to get repetitive with the chorus, Ikimo Dekinai has different lyrics each time. This makes the song sound more dynamically and certainly makes the song nice to listen to. Izumi Sakai did a great job here. I count this song as one of my 10 favorite Zard songs.
